Mature Tochi of this quality is increasingly scarce, making slabs of this scale and clarity highly sought after. The live edge is striking and deliberate — shaped by natural growth over decades and carefully refined by hand to preserve its dramatic contour. A central earth-toned, translucent resin river is seamlessly fused into the slab, stabilising natural voids while maintaining visual continuity. The integration of resin is restrained and precise, reinforcing structural integrity without detracting from the timber’s natural expression.

Intervention was minimal and deliberate. Structural reinforcement was integrated only where required, preserving continuity while maintaining long-term stability. Surface treatment was resolved to protect the timber without diminishing its natural depth or tactile presence.
